The Class of 1991 wishes to make the annual homecoming to be held this year on Friday, 25 November 2016, at Rizal Ballrooms A, B & C, Makati Shangri-la, to be a fun and memorable one for all the alumni, specially their batchmates who will be coming home for the event. Please save the date!

The Class began organizing in 2012, years before the year it will celebrate its homecoming. The Class formed a non-stock-non-profit corporation which was incorporated on 14 February 2013.

The Class’ first formal activity was the gala of Ballet Philippines’ La Revolucion Filipina held at the main theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines in July 2014. The ballet is an original full-length ballet production by Ballet Philippines choreographed by Agnes Locsin, with libretto by Dennis N. Marasigan and music by Ryan Cayabyab. Originally staged in the 1990s as part of the Philippine Centennial Celebrations, it was performed again in 2014 as Ballet Philippines 45thseason opening production and in commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Apolinario Mabini, upon whose work the title of the ballet comes from. It was also a socio-civic activity for the Class of 1991, since they were able to obtain sponsorships for tickets and the transportation of 225 students and teachers from Fortune Elementary School, Markina to watch the gala.

Since then, the class has ventured with the Center for Art, New Ventures, & Sustainable Development (CANVAS) for the sale of paintings by Manny Garibay’s in his “Sa Ngalan Ng Batas” at the Vargas Museum, U.P. Diliman Campus. The class has also sponsored Ballet Philippines’ Manhid: The Pinoy Superhero Musical and a premier of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The class has been permitted by the University of the Philippines to sell a limited number of Oblation statuettes as interpreted by sculptor Glenn Cagandahan until the homecoming on 25 November 2016. More details on this can be seen here köp elocon The class shall also present Timex watches with the logo of the College of Law and will host the annual Malcolm Cup Golf Tournament.

public-serviceU.P. Law alumni were honored in a testimonial for their service in government last November 7, 2014 at the Malcolm Theater. The event was organized by the U.P. College of Law, the U.P Alumni Foundation, U.P. Law Alumni Association, and the Silver Jubilee Class of 1989.Senator Edgardo J. Angara, together with Dean Danilo Concepcion and Atty. Juor Buted (Representative of Class 1989), was present to hand over the certificates of recognition to the honorees.

Senator Koko Pimentel gave a response in behalf of the honorees. His response reflects the continuing commitment of the U.P. College of Law in public service and its ongoing effort to transform itself to be a catalyst for change in our nation. He said:

untitled-2

“We must continue to personify good governance as our homage to this prestigious school and the alumni association that we belong to. Our alma mater deserves nothing less than our shared integrity, our unwavering commitment to serve the people as scholars ng bayan and servant leaders of our republic. Let us consciously and cohesively become a community of reformists that would make every corridor of power awash with the sunlight of public accountability. We cannot represent the UP College of Law in public service and be silent about graph and corruption as well as criminal efficiencies in government, including our justice system. . .

Those inside this hall have a heritage to protect, a future to uphold. We chose to be in government for a reason: to put our people’s interest ahead of our own, to serve them over and above the call of duty, to right what is wrong, and to help those too weak to help themselves.”

The event is the second testimonial held by the U.P. College of Law for its alumni in public service. Last night, at The Music Museum, a star was born: Chorus Juris! This is THE boy band for mature women! These kick-ass lawyers crooned and danced to the delight of their relatives, clients and very excitable middle-aged classmates.Had Mommy D and Ai-Ai de las Alas been in the audience, their paramours would have felt threatened by the stellar performance and oozing sex appeal of Chorus Juris. I mean, Ariel Rivera had so much of it that it rubbed off and blanketed the stage. Sheesh! The entire show was executed professionally. “The Illegal Concert” opened with a bang as the group burst unto the stage dressed like wiseguys in shiny sharkskin suits.

alumnirock003The escaped mobsters storyline was reinforced by mugshot backdrops (with the height thingie), yellow and black crime scene tapes, and Keith Haring body outlines on the floor. Batch ’87’s Rhoda Santos’ direction single-handedly upped the performance level to the pro category.

alumnirock005It was a ton of fun! Very good. Bernie Lopez was a revelation. His jeans had orange stitching that matched his orange shirt. And that guy can sing and move and sweat. Hehe. Ariel Magno’s droll humor and quick wit was a major hit. And he could definitely hold his own against Ariel Rivera in their deliciously pang matinee idol duet. Al also had a solo na pati si Danny Javier napaiyak na yata. Juor had this minty clear voice that tickles the ears. He also had an extra turn this time tickling the pseudo ivory keys of the electric keyboard. It was as if David Foster was there. Mario’s voice was very earthy and had a thrilling rasp to it and his thick shock of salt and pepper hair was shampoo commercial worthy.

These guys were so good they even made Justin Beiber’s Baby sound good. My favorite song for the evening was Eric Clapton’s Change the World closely followed by all the APO ditties. Speaking of APO, my golly, Danny Javier can truly still mesmerize a crowd and Buboy Garovilla is still as cute as ever. They were also gracious enough to donate their talent fees to the causes of Batch ’89. Buti na rin kasi lata ng biskwit lang din naman. So many, many law school buddies came and enjoyed the concert. Special mention goes to one of our most notable classmates, albuterol köpa who came with his wife and an entire baranggay to cheer on his classmates. Pag naging presidente si GiBO siguradong magiging CJ na talaga sila köpa zithromaxbeställa cialis på nätet Al Oxales viagra am billigstenbillige alli slankepiller, Bernie Lopez.
